Mid-Season Report - FC Rubin Irbid

PERFORMANCE: An interesting but unpredictable team, this band of young players continued to divide opinions among spectators with their performances so far in the league. Brilliant at their best and mediocre at their worst, both faces of the team had been shown making them a model for inconsistency. A flawless win against Real Benchwarmer was the zenith of their abilities, but huge losses against the top teams such as The Dark Horses and Warung Din Selamat FC frustrated the neutrals and supporters alike. Mid-table position seemed to suggest stability but the real story could not be any more different. They really need to show quality more often on the field, fulfilling their vast potential as title challenger thus making the race for the top more exciting.

CAPTAIN: Mohd Fauzi Abu Hassan a.k.a Pojie- Highly rated as a goalkeeper, this likable lad showed good handling skills and excellent shot stopping with explosive kicking to add to his array of abilities. 2 clean sheets so far, the only downfall would be his decision making in the box which saw 6 goals conceded to the TDH and WDS FC. This major flaw was also apparent in his tactics and team selection, contributing to the unpredictable nature of his team.

BEST PLAYER: Ridhwan a.k.a Dwang- His performances stood out as the most consistent and effective among his team-mates. Blessed with good first touch and technical ability, the right winger efforts had been personified with glacial composure and calm assurance. With 1 goal and 1 assist so far, he showed that he is dependable to perform for his team. A top-notch professional.

UNDER PERFORMER: Abdullah Ashraf Rafique Ali- This diminutive winger is the fans’ favorite due to his unique way of dribbling and friendly personality. He also showed his courageous side to take on defenders directly. However, his passing was erratic and the lack of support to the front marked out his weaknesses. He really needs to address this and step up his game to live up to his glowing reputation.

STARLET: Mohd Amin- Truly a gem in the midfield, he is earning rave reviews for his brilliant display on the field. Intelligent and composed, his passing and positioning was conducted with an air of maturity and sense of dominance. He orchestrated most of his team positive plays with ease and executed his midfield tasks well. An exciting prospect for the future.

Matchday 6 Fixtures - 5/3/2010

Thursday 18 February 2010

ATTENTION

1. First of all, PSL welcomes you back to Irbid, after nearly 2 weeks lay off.
2. Deepest condolences to Rubin Irbid FC captain, Fauzi for his loss.May Allah put Allahyarham amongst the Salihin.

Back to business, there are 2 things we would like to annouce.

1. After a thorough meetings and discussion between the PSL Committees and Sponsors,we decided that every PSL player will be charged 2 JDs as a entrance fee.

    - This is because we need funds to buy medals and hampers for each team at the end of the season.
    - Think it as 1 JD in the first round and another JD in the second round.
    - The fees will be collected by Captain and the dateline is 15th of March 2010.
    - Any queries or complaints please don't hesitate to refer to us.

2. Because there is a lack of activities in the transfer market,we strongly suggest any players that want to change team must do so before the end of February.Quick reminder of the transfer transaction ;

    - Transfer is a swap between players.
    - 4 parties must accept the transfers.(2 players that want to be exchanged and 2 captains)

PSL Director.

Mid-Season Report - Warung Din FC

Warung Din FC

PERFORMANCE: They started brightly in the beginning of the season. When other teams looked struggling to find their own tempo, WDFC had been climbing up to the top. Two big early victories justified their reputation as a title contender. But, a sorry loss to Real Benchwarmer looks to have undone them completely. This small bump looked to be bigger as their march has been halted further. Unable to score against TDH -although they did embarrass TDH in all division- resulted in a draw and it was followed by another surprising defeat against league's minnows Bugatti FC. Some said that their cocksureness resulted this, while others blame on referees’ decision- their two losses resulted from penalties. However still, do put in mind that they are the only team that looks capable of stopping TDH, ergo are still in the title race(provided they improve).

CAPTAIN: A. Muhd Rahmat Abdul Halif – One of the most senior players in the league showed why age is essential to be a captain. The experience on the field coupled with calmness on the ball made him a good leader. Always a confidence boost when he is playing at the back. Two goals so far- thanks to his ability to shoot from range. However, questions have been thrown at him over some of his tactical decisions.

BEST PLAYER: A. Muhd Rahmat Abdul Halif – To be honest, none would fit the boot other than the captain himself. Leading by example, he certainly did all the things that he could to keep a clean sheet and then, drive the team from the back. Without him, no one could ever wonder what will happen to the team.

UNDERPERFORMER: Yaser – Given his reputation as a strike force for the Irbid team, he has not risen to the expectation. A lackluster overall performance from this lad perhaps had been down to the fact that he received little support from his teammates. Only one goal from five games clearly does not give justice to his reputation. Nevertheless, his accurate timing of runs beating the offside traps and his markers are still being feared by the top defenders in the league.

STARLET: Helmi – A nightmare to his opponents. Many midfielders had been mortified by his brilliant skills of dribbling. His physique adds up to his composure making him hard to play against. A star for the future. He sure as shooting will be the linchpin of Irbid’s midfield in the coming years.
